Missy Titus

Product Design consultant | UX Career Coach

I’m an analytical thinker with 10+  years of design experience.

I hold a BFA in Art & Design from Cal Poly and got my start designing social games at MTV, but you could say my passion for problem solving started in 3rd grade, when I entered and won 1st Place at the science fair (an achievement I repeated every year for 6 years #hotbrag). My unique approach to design combines scientific thinking, design principles, and behavioral economics to solve problems and create useful systems.

While I’ve worked at and consulted with Fortune 500 Companies and startups, such as Viacom, PayPal, The Hunt (Series B, acquired 2015), StackMob (Series A, acquired 2013), and more, my heart lies with early stage startups. Previously, I headed design at the seed-stage startup, Bindle Chat—responsible for the company’s design principles, processes, and strategy.

I’m passionate about helping early stage startups develop design processes, support solo designers, and design human-centered products with product-market fit in mind.

Giving Back

In addition to my work, I’m involved with several local design and creativity organizations. I’m the Volunteer Chair for Design Week Sac, the Volunteer Coordinator for Creativity+, and the Graphics Lead for Creative Mornings Sacramento. In 2018 I founded a meetup group, Design Review Club, for Product and UX Designers to get feedback on their work, talk about issues in their careers, and learn from industry experts.

I also offer coaching for young Product and UX Designers, visual designers making the switch, and designers who have recently graduated from a bootcamp.

As with most startups, there was a lot going on at any given time and Missy was always able to take it in stride. The main issue was keeping her busy...a great problem to have. I'd hire her again in a second.
